Bandits abduct ex-reps member Joseph Haruna Kigbu on Jos trip

Bandits abducted former House of Representatives member, Joseph Haruna Kigbu, on Monday evening while he was en route to Jos.

The attack took place between Nunku in Akwanga Local Government Area, Nasarawa State, and Gwantu in Sanga Local Government Area, Kaduna State, around 6:00 p.m.

During the assault, the bandits fatally shot the police escort assigned to Dr. Kigbu, who attempted to resist the abduction.

A source revealed that the bandits fired sporadically, sending motorists in the area into panic. Local residents confirmed that the location has long been a hotspot for criminal activities.

Attempts to reach the spokesman for the Nasarawa State Police Command for confirmation were unsuccessful, as calls went unanswered.
