Michael Oyedokun, one of the teachers abducted from Community High School, Ahoro Esinele in Oriire Local Government Area of Oyo State, has reportedly been killed.

Gunmen had stormed the school on Friday, May 15, abducting the principal, several teachers, and some students.

The incident came weeks after a failed kidnap attempt along the Ibadan Ijebu road that left a traveler dead, heightening concerns over growing insecurity in parts of Oyo State and across Nigeria.

A video allegedly released by the attackers on Sunday, May 17, is said to show the killing of Oyedokun, sparking renewed fears for the safety of others still in captivity.

The development has plunged the community into mourning, with residents and families of the victims calling on security agencies and the Oyo State Government to intensify efforts to rescue those still held by the kidnappers.

As of the time of filing this report, authorities have yet to officially confirm the incident.
