Bandits attack commuters near Rigasa train station in Kaduna, kill Secure North campaigner, Rabiu Auwal

Bandits on Friday, November 20, attacked commuters at Rigasa train station in Kaduna and killed a #SecureNorth campaigner, Rabiu Auwal.

Sources say several persons sustained gunshot wounds from the attack and the casualty figure could not be determined.

“In his quest to push for Security and safety of the North he change his Profile DP on WhatsApp and Facebook all to #SecureNorth frame. Unknown to him, he will be consume by same Insecurity.

“Comrade Rabiu Auwal has done his best while alive to draw the attention of the authority to do it major responsibility of Securing the lives and Property of the People,” Nura Usman, one of Rabiu Auwal’s friends, posted on his Facebook page.

The Kaduna State Police PRO, Mohammed Jalige, promised to update the public on the incident as soon as he receives a report from the Divisional Police Command in Rigasa.

Rabiu Auwal was a passionate voice for #SecureNorth; a group campaigning against insecurity in northern Nigeria

He was a graduate of Agricultural Engineering from Bayero University, Kano.

His burial rites took place on Saturday morning, November 21, in Rigasa, Kaduna State.
