Bandits attack Katsina hospital: two injured, three abducted

Katsina State was rocked by a violent attack on Tuesday evening, January 14th, when armed bandits stormed Kankara General Hospital.
The attack, which occurred around 8:20 p.m., resulted in two injuries and the abduction of three individuals.
During the incident, heavily armed assailants opened fire, causing panic among staff and patients.
Security forces engaged the bandits in a gun battle, forcing them to retreat.
Two individuals, Dr. Murtala Saleh and Kamala Suleiman, sustained gunshot wounds and were immediately taken to a medical facility for treatment.
The identities of the three abducted individuals are currently being withheld for security reasons.
Katsina State Commissioner of Police, CP Aliyu Musa, strongly condemned the attack, describing it as a “heinous crime against humanity.”
He has ordered a comprehensive manhunt to apprehend the perpetrators and deployed additional personnel to enhance security in the area.
The police are urging residents to remain vigilant and cooperate with authorities in the ongoing investigation and rescue efforts.
