Bandits kidnap Monarch, 13 others in Katsina

Reports indicate that bandits have abducted the traditional ruler and 13 others in two separate attacks in Katsina.

It was gathered that the Monarch was whisked away by the assailants who came into Kunduru community on motorcycles on Friday night.

As of the time of filing this report, the abductors have not made contact with the family of the victim.

In a similar incident last week Wednesday, bandits abducted about 13 travellers in Faskari LGA of Katsina around 10am.

The State’s Police PRO, Isah Gambo, confirming the incident, said the victims were travelling to Funtua from Mai Gora to collect loans from a bank provided through a family support programme.

Gambo however noted that security operatives are intensifying efforts to ensure that the kidnapped victims are rescued alive.
