Bandits attacked the Zone 5 segment of the Kubwa Extension 2 Relocation Estate along Arab Road in the Federal Capital Territory on Sunday night between 8 pm and 9 pm, kidnapping episode include a woman and her three children, among them a six-month-old baby.
Residents in the area, speaking on the condition of anonymity, expressed concern over the recurring incidents of abductions during the month of December.
He said, “This kidnapping has become a regular occurrence here every December. If you remember very well, last December, there was similar incident of abduction in the area, now this is another one, and it is worrisome.”
Another resident attributed the rise in kidnappings to the inadequate security measures in the locality. “The lack of proper security in the area is contributing to these incidents. Last night, an entire family—a mother and her three children, including a six-month-old baby—fell victim to kidnapping here at Zone 5, Kubwa Extension 2 Relocation Estate.”
The FCT Police Command was yet to make an official comment concerning the development as of press time.
When contacted by our correspondent, the FCT Police Public Relations Officer, SP Josephine Adeh, promised to find out about the development and revert.
“I will find out and get back to you as soon as possible please,” Adeh said.
Meanwhile, the FCT CP, Haruna Garba, did not respond to phone calls by our correspondent on Monday.
