Tragedy struck in Mairuwa village, Faskari local government area of Katsina State, as bandits mercilessly gunned down a politician known as Alhaji Lado during Ramadan prayers at the village mosque.
The incident, which took place on Saturday night while worshippers gathered for prayers, has left the community in shock and mourning.
Details surrounding the attack remain scarce, with the sequence of events still unfolding.
However, it has been reported that Alhaji Lado met his untimely demise after bravely refusing to comply with the demands of his assailants.
Survivors of the mosque attack recounted the horror to Daily Trust, revealing that the bandits also abducted Alhaji Lado’s wife and two daughters, adding further anguish to the already devastating situation.
Also, an eyewitness mentioned another victim, a health worker identified simply as Sani, who fell victim to the senseless violence.
“He worked at the Mairuwa Health Facility,” the eyewitness revealed.
