Armed bandits, on Wednesday, May 5 shot dead a policeman in Ogun state and abducted his colleague and three others, including a couple.
According to The Punch, the couple who were on a mission to establish a fish farm in the state and a civil servant who works with the ministry of agriculture were abducted by the hoodlums suspended to be kidnappers.
They were abducted at Ibara-Orile in Abeokuta North local government area of the state after killing one of the policemen, who served as guards for the farmers.
A source quoted in the report said: “A civil servant with the ministry of agriculture, fishery department was kidnapped on Wednesday. A policeman was shot dead, while another policeman was abducted.
“They later took the couple and the civil servant to the bush and have yet to contact the family of the victims.”
The Ogun state police command spokesman, DSP Abimbola Oyeyemi, confirmed the incident, adding that the command would ensure that the perpetrators were brought to book and the victims were rescued.
