Bandits threaten attack on three Kwara communities
Security agencies in Kwara State have been placed on high alert after a bandit group threatened to attack three communities in Oyun Local Government Area.
According to a letter reportedly dropped at the Ira market, the group, identified as the Nigeria Terrorists Association (NTA), warned that it plans to target Ira, Inaja, and Aho communities. The letter has caused concern among residents.
A security source said the Nigerian Army’s Forward Operation Base in Ilemona, along with other security personnel, is patrolling the threatened areas to prevent any possible attacks.
The source also recalled that security forces successfully repelled a bandit attack on Sunday in Share, the headquarters of Ifelodun Local Government Area, after about an hour of exchange of gunfire. No casualties or abductions were reported.
Authorities continue to monitor the situation closely to ensure the safety of residents.
