Banky W, family relocate to U.S.

Veteran Nigerian musician Bankole Wellington, popularly known as Banky W, has announced that he and his family have relocated to the United States.

According to Naija News, Banky W shared this news via his official Instagram account, where he posted photos and explained the reason behind the move. The 43-year-old rapper mentioned that the relocation was part of his journey to fulfill his life’s purpose.

He wrote, “For family. For faith. For finding purpose. For the next year of earning a Master’s degree in Policy Management at Georgetown University in Washington, DC. Wish us well.”

Responding to his post, his wife, Adesua Etomi, commented, “Home is wherever you are.”

In July, Banky W had already revealed his enrollment in a Policy Management program at Georgetown University.

Banky W and Adesua, who tied the knot in South Africa in 2017, welcomed their son Hazaiah in 2021.

Additionally, Banky W ventured into politics, running as the People’s Democratic Party (PDP) candidate for the Eti-Osa Federal Constituency in Lagos during the 2023 elections, though he lost to Labour Party’s Thaddeus Attah.
