Barrister Joy Okpaimno uplifts Ojope community with unforgettable Christmas celebration

For the people of Ojope, the 2024 Christmas season brought an unforgettable glow to their hearts, a celebration that will be etched in their memories for years to come.

For the first time, the community experienced the true joy of the festive season, thanks to the Joy-Inspired Widows and Children Foundation and their remarkable organization of the Ojope Christmas Funfair.

Against the backdrop of economic challenges gripping the nation, the foundation orchestrated an event that turned despair into delight, giving the people of Ojope a reason to celebrate.

Widows and children across the community were the stars of the occasion, basking in the warmth of kindness and camaraderie.

The day began with a prayer walk, where women lifted their voices to God in prayers for the progress of Ojope land and the entire Idoma nation.

This spiritual exercise set a tone of hope and unity for the day’s events.

A medical outreach followed, during which medical personnel attended to people with various ailments.

This gesture was deeply appreciated, as it addressed pressing health concerns and provided relief to many in the community.

The event was a beacon of hope, featuring the distribution of essential relief materials such as food items and clothing to widows from various villages.

This act of generosity brought smiles and a renewed sense of belonging to many who had faced hardship in silence.

Speaking with newsmen, Barrister Joy Okpaimno, the visionary founder of the Joy-Inspired Widows and Children Foundation, shared her motivation.

The festivities were not limited to the distribution of materials. The event also featured a thrilling football tournament that brought excitement and unity among the youth.

The winners of the tournament, Ojope United FC, walked away with a cash prize of N300,000 and other mouth-watering prizes.

Children, too, were not left out of the celebration. Santa Claus himself made a grand appearance, filling the air with magic and laughter, creating unforgettable memories for the little ones.

In an interview with Idoma Television, several beneficiaries expressed profound gratitude to Barrister Okpaimno for her commitment to her roots.

They urged other sons and daughters of the land to emulate her selflessness and dedication to community upliftment.

The event also drew the admiration of traditional leaders.
The Third-Class Chief in charge of Apa West, HRH Godwin Iduh Bamidele, alongside other royal fathers, commended Barrister Okpaimno for her outstanding gesture.

They praised her for bringing hope and light to Ojope and for setting a shining example of compassion and leadership.
