‘Baseless claims’ – Maduka University denies scamming 400 nursing students

The attention of the management of Maduka University Enugu has been drawn to false and misleading publications against the school on some news portals regarding admissions and school fees payments.

The malicious and false publication, which appeared first on www.thepressng.com and syndicated on other blogs with the headline: Maduka University Enugu Scams Over 400+ Nursing Students ₦800,000 Each Without Offering Them Admission, It was alleged that over 400 nursing students were denied admission despite paying their fees.

The story is false, misleading and should be disregarded in its entirety.

As the management of Maduka University, we wish to categorically refute these baseless claims and provide clarity on the matter.

First and foremost, it is important to state that at Maduka University Enugu, students are only required to pay school fees after being formally admitted into their respective programmes.

It is against our institutional policy to collect fees from prospective students before offering them admission.

Contrary to the erroneous assertions made in the circulated story, Maduka University operates an open admission policy, and academic activities, including those in the Nursing and other departments, are currently ongoing.

We wish to state unequivocally that the allegations of collecting fees from over 400 nursing students without offering them admission are entirely false and without merit.

We challenge anyone making such claims to provide evidence of payment without corresponding admission into our institution.

As a responsible institution committed to transparency and accountability, we invite scrutiny and verification of our records to debunk these unfounded accusations.

Maduka University remains steadfast in its dedication to providing quality education and upholding the highest standards of integrity and ethics.

Our guiding mantra emphasises student-centered learning, critical thinking, creativity, and a commitment to excellence.

We are deeply committed to the well-being and success of our students, and any suggestion to the contrary is baseless and misleading.

Maduka University Enugu reaffirms its commitment to admitting students for the current academic year.

Our 2023/2024 Matriculation ceremony for all our pioneer students, comes up on 23rd February 2024.

We extend a warm invitation to candidates participating in this year’s Unified Tertiary Matriculation Examination (UTME) to consider Maduka University as their institution of choice.

Our legal team is currently reviewing the publication and will pursue necessary action against the individuals responsible for the malicious story.

We urge the public to disregard the false narrative being circulated and reaffirm our unwavering dedication to providing quality education and fostering an environment conducive to learning and personal development.
We caution the public, prospective students, and parents against making any payments to unauthorised individuals.

All official transactions should be conducted solely through our established channels of communication.

Any dealings with individuals outside the school management are done at one’s own risk.
