Bauchi State Government has approved the creation of Bauchi-Mingsheng Company to explore new opportunities, create jobs, and boost the state’s internally generated revenue.
Maiwada Bello, Commissioner for Natural Resources Development, announced this after the State Executive Council meeting. He highlighted the state’s push for investment and business growth.
The initiative follows a 2023 visit by Governor Bala Mohammed to Shandong, China, which resulted in Memoranda of Understanding with several companies in mining, agriculture, and tourism. The Bauchi-Mingsheng company will focus on mining activities in Toro and Dass Local Government Areas, including the exploration of monazite, tin/columbite, zircon, and other rare earth elements.
Bello emphasized that the initiative would foster public-private partnerships, drive innovation, and diversify the state’s economy. He expressed confidence that the company would create jobs, attract investment, and improve living standards.
The project is expected to support local industries relying on raw materials like tin and monazite, essential for technology and construction sectors, and improve infrastructure in surrounding communities.
