The 9th season of Big Brother Naija (BBNaija), themed ‘No Loose Guard’, kicked off with a twist as the show host, Ebuka Obi-Uchendu, introduced housemates in pairs rather than individually, as was done in previous seasons.
The first pair to enter the house were Chinwe and Zion, collectively known as Zinwe.
They were followed by Femi David and Michael, dubbed the Radicals.
The third pair, DJ Flo and Rhuthee, went by the name Flourish.
Chinne and Nne, known as Ndi Nne, entered as the fourth pair, presenting themselves as an aunt and niece duo.
Topher and Sooj, also known as Aces, were the fifth pair to join the house.
Victoria and Shaun, collectively known as Shatoria, entered as the 6th pair.
Followed by Wanni and Handi, who go by Wanni X Handi, as the 7th pair.
The Mbadiwe twins were another notable pair, entering the show to challenge stereotypes.
They were followed by the BETA duo, with TAMI, a pair of longtime friends, entering next.
Another pair in the house is NELITA, along with the married couple known as DOUBLE KAY.
The CHEKAS, who joined the show to stir up some trouble, rounded out the list of contestants.
This season’s grand prize is N20 million, N20 million less than the N120 million awarded in Season 8.
