The Idoma red and black cultural dress is equally unique as it distinguishes the Idoma man form other tribes in the country.

The uniqueness of the colour is also demonstrated at the palace of the leader of Idoma people the Och’Idoma whose palace the Och’Idoma Palace in Otukpo is adorned with red and black colours.

The Och’Idoma also adorns himself with the traditional colours whenever he is stepping out of his palace on official functions while his subjects, like their Tiv counterparts also use the dress to important occasions like annual cultural celebrations.

The black colour in the Idoma cultural dress represents fertile land.
The red colour represents royalty or red feather. The Idoma people have great respect for the red feather which is fixed on the head of their traditional leader.

Today, your soar-away Idoma Voice showcases some beautiful damsels dazzling in the attire, which has been described by many as the best traditional colour in Nigeria.
