Bella Shmurda’s mother asks him not to return home after Mohbad’s death

Bella Shmurda, the acclaimed singer whose real name is Abiola Ahmed Akinbiyi, has disclosed that his mother advised him against returning to Nigeria following the tragic and controversial demise of his close friend and frequent collaborator, rapper Mohbad.

While he was in Canada, preparing for an upcoming tour, Shmurda received the heart-wrenching news of Mohbad’s passing in Nigeria.

Shmurda shared these sentiments during a candlelight procession held in Canada to honor the memory of Mohbad on Saturday, September 23, 2023.

He expressed, “Mohbad was not just my brother; he was my closest friend. Regrettably, just three days after my departure from Nigeria, I received the devastating news of his demise.”

Shmurda went on to reveal that his mother had urged him to delay his return to Nigeria, and he understood her concerns.

He concluded with a heartfelt tribute, saying, “Rest in peace, Mohbad. May you find blessings wherever you are, even in the afterlife. Words fail me at this moment. I extend my gratitude to all who have joined us here today. And let justice be served for Mohbad!”
