The All Progressives Congress (APC) in Benue State has promised to reclaim the state from the opposition Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), in the 2019 general elections.
The party’s leader in the state, Senator George Akume, said this on Sunday at a caucus meeting in the state.
The decision according to him, follows the defection of the state governor, Samuel Ortom to the PDP as well as his re-election bid.
Akume said, “The PDP will taste defeat like it did in 2015”.
He also accused the state governor of stealing the APC’s mandate.
Meanwhile, the party has adopted the method of the indirect primaries ahead of the general elections.
