A frontline governorship aspirant on the platform of the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP and immediate past Chief Press Secretary to the Benue State Governor, Terver Akase today met with the Elders Forum of Jechira Gubernatorial Movement, seeking for their support ahead of the 2023 elections.
Hon Akase said he was before the group to seek their support as he has formally resigned his appointment to pursue the guber ambition. He said it was the turn of Jechira to produce the next governor of the state and called on the Committee to consider him as their son who has the capacity to make the state proud as Governor, saying he has offered himself to selflessly serve the people of the state.
Mr Akase said as someone who has worked very closely with Governor Samuel Ortom, he is abreast with the challenges of the state and would work towards tackling them squarely if elected.
He said his administration will focus on security of lives and propertie, create jobs for the youths and boost agriculture, among others, promising to carry everyone along.
Responding, Chairman, Jechira Gubernatorial Movement, Engineer Tachia Jooji said their mandate is to lobby and ensure that the next governor of the state is from the area. The former House of Reps member said Mr Akase is already on the list of aspirants from Jerchira and assured him of their blessings and support.
Also speaking, Co-chairman of the forum, Chief Edward Ujege, Chief Ukor Ayem, Professor Mrs Igbabul all attested to the good works of Mr Terver Akase as well as his humility and pedigree. They also prayed God to be with him in his political journey.
Those who accompanied Mr Akase included Elder Adugh Gajir, retired Permanent Secretary Tyosange Akaagerger, Engineer Terhide Utaan, Hon Godwin Ayihe and Honourable Akor Shoho.
