Benue 2023: Nongov nation adopts Ortom as sole candidate for Zone B senate

Critical stakeholders from Nongov nation in Guma local government area have unanimously adopted the Benue State Governor, Samuel Ortom as the sole candidate to run for the Benue North-West senatorial seat on the platform of the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP.
This is coming on the heels of the formal blessings on the governor penultimate week by his kinsmen from the Ndzorov council ward where he hails from.
It is a build-up to the kickoff of political activities ahead of the 2023 general elections following the release of election time table by the Independent National Electoral Commission, INEC.
The adoption which was held at LGEA Primary School Agasha, headquarters of the entire Nongov nation, attracted a mammoth crowd of supporters and well-wishers across the state.
Speakers at the elaborate ceremony which cuts across Kaambe, Saghev and Nzorov Council Wards as well as Abinsi said if the Governor likes it or not, they will compel him to contest for the election.
Austine Audu spoke for Abinsi, Simon Anyamkande for Saghev, Stephen Usue for Kaambe and Tarkper Akaahena for Nzorov before the Governor was decorated in traditional attire.
Governor Ortom had earlier told his kinsmen that he had a dream to represent Benue North West and came to solicit the support of his kinsmen to actualise the dream.
The Governor’s convoy was heralded into Agasha town by children, women and various groups who stationed strategically waving in admiration for the visit of their son, Governor Ortom.
Traditional folk singers, artistes among others entertained guests at the occasion which preceded consultations with traditional rulers at the residence of Chief Mrs Rebecca Apezan.
