Benue: 60-year-old man remanded for sexually assaulting nephew

A Makurdi Magistrates’ Court on Thursday has ordered the remand of a 60-year old man identified as Terhemen Nyajo, for allegedly forcing his nephew, Ushahembe Wuese to have sex with him.

Nyajo, who lives behind Akpehe Market, Makurdi is charged with unnatural offence punishable under Section 285 of the Penal Code laws of Benue, 2004.

The prosecutor, Sgt. Regina Ishaya told the court that the victim had reported the matter at the ‘E’ Division Police Station, Makurdi.

Ishaya told the court the accused confessed to the act during investigations.

However, the prosecutor prayed the court to remand the accused because the police was still conducting “further investigations.’’ NAN reports.

Magistrate Peter Chaha, who gave the order, adjourned the matter until Jan 16, for further mention.
