Senator representing Benue North West Senatorial District, Distinguished Senator Orker Jev says he enjoys a very cordial relationship with the Benue State Governor, Samuel Ortom.

Senator Orker Jev stated this on Tuesday during an interview with journalists at the Benue Peoples House Makurdi after a meeting with the Governor.

He said he and Governor Ortom had resolved not to allow anything to sour the relationship they had built over time.

“Me and the Governor decided from day one that we will not allow people to come between us. Any time there is anything, I sit down with him and we thrash it out because in these days of social media where there are no ethics or code of conduct, anybody can post anything on the social media and if you don’t take time, such will lead to a misunderstanding between very good friends or associates. So between the two of us, we have decided that such will not happen,” Senator Jev noted.

He stressed that he and Governor Ortom had resolved to maintain their good relationship in the interest of their people.

“Like the Governor always says, tomorrow belongs to God and it is not for us to determine what happens tomorrow; so we leave our fate in God’s hands and allow Him to decide. From my part and I am sure he has also assured me that on his part, nothing will come in between the relationship that we have built for ourselves,” Senator Jev stated.

The senator while fielding questions from journalists, acknowledged the economic difficulties experienced by Nigerians in the outgone year, noting that provision of potable water for his constituents remains a priority.
