The governorship candidate of the All Progressives Congress, APC, in Benue State, Rev Fr Hyacinth Alia, on Wednesday failed to name his running mate for the 2023 election.
IDOMA VOICE earlier reported that Alia was billed to name his running mate today at the party’s secretariat.
However, latest report available to IDOMA VOICE has it that the meeting of party’s stakeholders ended in a deadlock as the former Catholic priest was not allowed to unveil his deputy.
A source said, “The Rev Fr was not allowed to announce his choice, hence he left the Secretariat without pronouncing anyone as running mate.”
IDOMA VOICE recalls that the leadership of the All Progressives Congress, APC, in Benue South led by former Minister of Agriculture, Audu Ogbeh, had narrowed down the search for the running mate to the party’s governorship flag bearer in the state to three persons.
Among the nominees are former Minister of Niger Delta Affairs, Barr. Sam Ode, Dr. Isaac Egboja and Benjamin Abuh Omakolo.
