Benue State House of Assembly has given Governor Samuel Ortom the go ahead to appoint 26 Special new Advisers. This followed a correspondence from the Governor to assembly signed by Secretary to State Government Prof. Tony Ijohor, requesting for the approval.
According to the Letter, the request became necessary in order to bring on board people of proven integrity to assist him in the performance of his duties.
The Speaker Titus Uba, urged those who would be appointed to justify the confidence repose in them.
Briefing newsmen after the sitting, Majority Leader Damian Cheme said, even though the house was on a short break, it had to reconvene to grant the request in order not to create the vacuum.
