Berger Alfred Emberga, a member of the Benue State House of Assembly, has shed light on why the commissioner-nominees list submitted by Governor Hyacinth Alia was not immediately revealed to the public.
According to Emberga, an emergency sitting was held earlier in the day where they received a letter from Governor Alia requesting the screening and confirmation of 14 commissioner nominees.
The list of nominees was attached to the letter, but due to the limited time available, the House unanimously decided to unveil the names at a later plenary.
He said, “Earlier today the 10th Benue State House of assembly had an emergency sitting where we received a letter from the Executive Governor of Benue State Rev. Fr Dr Hyacinth Alia asked us to screen and also confirm 14 number commissioner nominees.”
“The list of the commissioner nominees were attached to the letter but considering how short the time was, the House unanimously resolved to unveil the names at its later plenary.”
