Benue Assembly: Tony Agom to chair Election, Civil Society Committee, made member of three other committees

The member representing Okpokwu Constituency in the Benue State House of Assembly, Honourable Agom Anthony got a handful of committees to serve his dear state in the 9th Assembly.

He is to chair the very delicate and complicated Committee on Electoral Matters and Civil Society Organisations.

It will be recalled that Governor Samuel Ortom promised to conduct local government elections as soon as possible and to achieve this will require capable and ever ready hands in all the agencies, departments and committees that are responsible for the smooth conduct of an election.

It is no surprise therefore that his colleagues hands him the task of oversight responsibilities of electoral matters and the ever vibrant Civil Society Organisations in Benue State.

Hon Agom got into the House through a very competitive election against an opponent that tried to compromise the conscience of the electorates by distributing Rosaries, Scalpers and Scarves – the type that has never been seen before.
