Benue community mourns as lightning kills girl during storm

A devastating thunderstorm in Mbaiwen, Adikpo, Kwande Local Government Area of Benue State, claimed the life of a young girl, Celina Agbatse, after she was struck by lightning.

According to an eyewitness, Celina had gone to fetch water when the rain started. In an attempt to avoid getting drenched, she took shelter in front of a house, waiting for the storm to subside.

Tragically, a sudden lightning strike hit her, causing fatal injuries.

She was immediately rushed to the General Hospital in Adikpo, where doctors confirmed her death. Her body has since been deposited at the hospital’s mortuary.
