Benue: Controversy as Tivs dominate BSUTH recruitment list, Idomas kick

Published

on

Benue South Senatorial District residents are expressing frustration and disappointment over what they perceive as lopsided recruitment practices in the ongoing employment process at the Benue State University Teaching Hospital (BSUTH).

The controversy arose when the second batch of the recruitment list, released on Friday, revealed a complete absence of Idoma individuals, leading to accusations of marginalization and injustice.

IDOMA VOICE reports that despite the initial announcement of recruitment opportunities for the entire state, the latest batch showed no representation from the Idoma ethnic group.

This has ignited serious debates and discontent among the Idoma people, who allege being sidelined despite their substantial electoral support in the last election.

Reactions on social media have been swift and impassioned, with individuals sharing their thoughts on the perceived injustice.

Below are some of the responses:

“On our part, let us introspect. Where did we go wrong? How did we get it wrong? I think I have a partial answer to this. I started a 2000 capacity poultry farm (strictly layers) in my community with the intention to expand it to 4000 and also introduce other animals to the farm. My people, after 6 months, my community started wahala. Na so farm of 3.5m investment, a loan I obtained just went down. Please how can I trust any investment in my Zone C next time? I think we are first of all the architect of our misfortune and until we correct that, na wahala all the way ooooooo”
