The Commissioner of Police in Benue State has formally decorated 456 officers recently elevated in rank during a ceremony held at the Command Headquarters in Makurdi.

The colourful event attracted senior officers, family members, and well-wishers who gathered to celebrate the advancement of the officers, describing it as a milestone in their careers.

The Benue State Police Command said the exercise followed the nationwide promotion approved by the Police Service Commission and recommended by the Inspector-General of Police, Kayode Egbetokun.

Addressing the newly promoted officers, the CP urged them to see their elevation as a call to higher responsibility, discipline, and improved service delivery to the people of Benue State and Nigeria at large.

He emphasised that promotion comes with increased expectations in professionalism, operational efficiency, community engagement, and respect for human rights.

The Command reaffirmed its commitment to strengthening morale and professionalism within the Force, noting that the decoration symbolises recognition of hard work and dedication to duty.
