Benue: Engo Elizabeth Aleje sworn-in as Customary Court of Appeal judge

Benue State governor, Dr. Samuel Ortom has charged newly sworn judge of the Customary Court of Appeal, Engo Elizabeth Aleje, and other Judges in the Benue State judiciary to ensure quick and timely dispensation of justice in the state, just as he promised government continuous support to the judiciary to enable it effectively carry out it’s mandate.

Gov Ortom, who sworn in the new judge today at a brief ceremony at the Benue People’s House, Makurdi, expressed confidence that her appointment, which he said was in recognition for excellence and hardwork, will enhance the effectiveness of the Customary Court of Appeal in carrying out it’s role of adjudication as well as dispensation of justice in general.

He was represented by his deputy, Engr Benson Abounu.

Governor Ortom, who restated his respect and trust in the Benue judiciary, said his administration is prepared to do all within its capacity to ensure that the Customary Court of Appeal judges, as well as the entire Benue judiciary is adequately staffed to effectively discharge their responsibilities.

Responding, Hon. Justice Engo Aleje thanked the governor and the state judiciary for giving her the opportunity to make her contributions to the development of the state through effective justice delivery.

She pledged to put in her best to ensure quick and timely dispensation of justice.
