Benue girl beaten to death by agberos in Lagos
A young woman identified as Juliet, an Igede native from Ahuye, Akunda Ito, has reportedly been beaten to death by suspected agberos in United Estate, Sangotedo – Ajah, Lagos.
According to reports circulating on social media, the tragic incident occurred early Tuesday morning under circumstances that are still unclear. Eyewitnesses said Juliet’s body has been deposited at a morgue near Doreen Specialist Hospital, Thomas Estate, Ajah, as investigations continue.
Some suspects have reportedly been arrested and taken to Ogombo Police Station, but members of the Igede community are demanding swift and transparent justice.
In a statement shared by community leader John Enyi Ona, the Igede community expressed deep grief and outrage over the killing, calling on all Igede sons and daughters — particularly those residing within the Ajah/Lekki axis — to gather in peaceful protest on Wednesday morning to demand justice.
“Let’s not keep quiet while evil thrives. Today it’s Juliet; tomorrow it could be another innocent soul. Let’s rise for justice. Let Juliet’s death not be in vain,” the statement read.
The Lagos State Police Command is yet to issue an official statement regarding the incident as of the time of filing this report.
