Benue Govt approves new signage agency, disability bill

The Benue State Executive Council has approved the establishment of the Benue State Signage and Advertising Agency, which will oversee outdoor advertising and signage across the state.

The new agency is expected to uphold high standards of safety, aesthetics, and environmental responsibility within Benue’s public visual spaces.

The council also gave the green light to the domestication of the Disability Bill (2024), a legislative step that grants equal rights and protections to disabled persons in Benue State and enforces penalties against discrimination.

Also, the council approved a sum of N567,519,426.53 as compensation for the Mbagwa and Mbawa communities in Makurdi Local Government Area.

This payment is intended to offset the annexation of community land for the construction of a Federal Housing Estate.
