Benue govt sets to upgrade Agasha School of Health Technology to College

The Honourable Commissioner for Health and Human Services, Benue State Dr. Joseph Ngbea has promise on behalf of Benue State Government to upgrade AGASHA School of Health Technology to a College of Health Technology.

Dr. Ngbea made this recommendation while on a Familiarization and Facility visit to the school and were received by the Principal Mrs. Esther Mbalohon Menger who welcome the team from Ministry of Health which comprises of the Permanent Secretary Sir. Andrew Amee and Director of Public Health Dr. Terna Kur.

The Principal took the Honourable Commissioner and his team round the School facility and also enumerated the challenges of the school which includes, Lack of Accreditation, decay in infrastructure, lack of Staff and other issues.

While responding the Honourable Commissioner promise to advise and make necessary arrangements with the State Government in other to upgrade the status of the institution to a College of Health Technology.

Moreso, the Honourable Commissioner and his team visited the Epidemiology Unit and were Conducted round the facility by Dr. Terungwa Ngishe the Incident Manager of Emergency Operation Center (EOC). The challenges at the Unit were enormous reaching from Lack of Offices, Lack of Paternership from agencies, lack of public power supply and Drugs among others. The Honourable Commissioner promise to liase with Government to upgrade the facility and build a molecular Laboratory at the Unit.

Furthermore, the Honourable Commissioner and his team visited Permanent Site of Benue State Primary Health Care Board (BSPHCB) under construction and were conducted round the magnificent structure by Dr. Bem Ageda the Executive Secretary of Benue State PHCB and the Honourable Commissioner and his team were impressed with the work done at the facility which will be ready for commissioning by the End of the Month.
