Benue State Governor, Rev. Fr. Hyacinth Alia, marked his 58th birthday with a warning to troublemakers, stating that his administration will not tolerate any form of unrest.

The celebration, held at the new Banquet Hall, Government House, Makurdi, was notable for the absence of key All Progressives Congress (APC) stakeholders, including the Secretary to the Government of the Federation, Sen. George Akume, and the two APC senators from the state.

During the event, Governor Alia was presented with a symbolic spear by traditional rulers from the Tiv Area Traditional Council (TATC), signifying his commitment to protecting and developing the state.

He emphasized his administration’s determination to place Benue on the path of progress, announcing plans to construct a flyover in Otukpo, the traditional home of the Idoma nation.

Governor Alia expressed his appreciation for the hard work and resilience of the poor masses, noting that his administration’s security efforts have yielded positive results, allowing farmers to return to their farms.

He highlighted his commitment to peace, stating that Benue is currently enjoying relative peace.

He attributed this to the support of the President and Vice President, who are ensuring the state’s peace and its status as the Food Basket of the Nation.

The governor assured the people that his administration will continue to make significant progress in the next six months, and that the impact of the government will be felt in all areas of the state within the next two weeks. He concluded by saying, “The stones have been rolled away, and Benue will move from grace to grace.”
