Benue is not part of Biafra – Govt replies Nnamdi Kanu, IPOB

Ado Local Government Executive Chairman, Comr. James Oche has blasted Mazi Nnamdi Kanu and supporters of indigenous people of Biafra styled IPOB for threatening to send operatives of the Eastern Security Network to Benue State.

He has also admonished the fugitive to desist forthwith in dragging the name of the Benue State Governor into his self-seeking campaign.

Mr. Oche who made this position known yesterday while addressing journalists, said the territorial integrity of Benue State was not and would never be subject of the Biafra campaign.

He cautioned proponents of Nnamdi Kanu’s inordinate ideology resident within Benue to desist or face the wrath of the law.

The Chairman who has recently earned uncommon commendations for his security efforts described Nnamdi Kanu as a desperate drowning man, seeking to hold onto the name of Benue State and its hard working Governor to remain relevant, having suffered monumental oblivion.

Contrary to Kanu’s submission that 3 people were abducted, Oche clarified that, they were arrested in connection with the murder of an elderly Fulani Man, Mohammed Isa. An act that threatened the security of the area and made the Deputy Governor summon a meeting that was held yesterday in Makurdi with all concerned stakeholders.

Kanu is said to have issued statements charging the Benue State Governor to protect IPOB communities or he would send operatives of the Eastern Security Network to do so. Reacting more, Oche cautioned the IPOB leader not to insult the sensibilities of the Benue people.

Oche said Governor Samuel Ortom was doing his best in terms of security as this is recently evident in the arrests that have been made of suspects who murdered an elderly Fulani man, Mohammed Isa. Mr. Oche urged the people to remain calm and supportive of His Excellency’s commitment to the full implementation of the Anti Open Grazing Law of the State.
Oche finally also submitted that any attempt to threaten the peace and territorial integrity of the Benue people would be decisively dealt with.

Just yesterday, the Defenders of Benue Valley Frontiers, a civil society orgaisation IPOB to steer clear of the state.

Defenders of Benue Valley Frontiers described Kanu and his group as hungry jokers who are only looking for relevance.

The group in a statement signed by its President Shedrack Shima and Secretary, Otse Solomon, warned Kanu and his group to steer clear of Benue State.
