Benue: Jubilation in Agatu as Senator Moro lights up Engila community

The Engila community in Agatu Local Government Area, Benue South Senatorial District, recently celebrated a major milestone as Senator Abba Moro fulfilled a long-standing need by providing a 500KVA transformer, bringing electricity to the area for the first time.

The provision of the transformer came after the community appealed to Senator Moro, who responded swiftly by taking action to address their power challenges.

Speaking on behalf of the community, Dr. Godwin Adanu Joseph, President General and Chairman of the Engila Community Development Forum, and Onuminya Elaigwu Peter, expressed their gratitude, emphasizing how this development would drastically improve the lives of residents.

“With the installation of this transformer, many people who rely on electricity for their businesses will now be able to save money previously spent on fueling generators,” they shared. “This is a huge relief for our community.”

The duo also praised Senator Moro for his exceptional work, stating that he has not only represented the people of Benue South but has also actively improved their lives through numerous constituency projects.

The Village Head, Elder Emmanuel Abuh, also thanked Senator Moro for his continued support, noting the positive impact of his tenure on the community.

“We are thankful, but we still request that the senator consider providing us with safe, potable water, as our current water source is not suitable for drinking,” Elder Abuh said.

He assured that the community would protect the transformer, having already established a local security team to safeguard it from vandalism.

Elder Abuh also expressed gratitude to the community’s sons and daughters for their efforts in securing the transformer and other ongoing projects, encouraging unity among residents to attract further development. He concluded by announcing plans for the Engila Day celebration, set for February next year.
