I read a tweet by the bushy hair former senator known as Shehu Sani in which he made a sarcastic comment asking Benue State Governor, Samuel Ortom to refrain from making hurried ethnic conjectures and postulating political conspiracy theories over the killings in his state and other parts of the country.
Sani must be out of his mind to say that. His statement connotes the very conspiracy he cautioned Governor Ortom about. The retired senator is apparently one of those fanning the embers of hatred while grandstanding in the pubic space.
Shehu Sani claims to have solutions to every problem, yet he couldn’t find a winning formula for his re-election bid and lost the senate seat.
What does Sani know about the security situation in Benue and other states that he has chosen to dance on the graves of the dead? Have the Fulanis who invade communities and kill people denied responsibility? Have Miyetti Allah groups who sponsor the killing not given reason why their militia attack communities? Are the militia not of Fulani extraction?
I expect security agencies to invite Senator Shehu Sani for questioning. He surely knows something about activities of the murderous herders since he doesn’t want anyone to accuse them of the attacks in Benue and elsewhere.
Let me advise Shehu Sani to face his troubles and leave Governor Ortom to be. He should answer the charges brought against him by EFCC that he extorted $25,000 from Sani Dauda, the chairperson of A.S.D Motors.
That Sani has hurriedly returned the $25,000 after he was arrested and detained in December 2019 is proof that he is indeed guilty of the offence.
A man who lives a life laden with fraud such as Sen. Sani lacks the moral justification to advise a fellow man about any issue.
Shehu Sani should better save his words for the courts.
