The Chairman of Vandeikya Local Government Council of Benue State, Hon. (Mrs) Kukase Tyoer Garba, has been suspended for a period of three months.
The LG boss was axed following allegations of abuse of office and corruption leveled against here by the legislative council.

The Executive Governor of Benue State is in receipt of a letter dated 1 March, 2021 from the Vandeikya Legislative Council, Benue State drawing attention to a vote of no confidence passed on the Executive Chairman.
The allegations made by the Legislative Council against the Chairman, Hon. (Mrs) Kukase Tyoer Garba are as follows:
a) Failure to inform the Legislative Council of the Monthly Income and Expenditure of the Local Government in violation of Sections 48(b) and 87 (3) of the Local Government Establishment Law, 2007 (as amended).
b) Misappropriation of public funds.
c) Failure to present Budget Estimates to the Local Government Legislative Council.
(d) Abuse of Executive power as she runs the affairs of the Local Government as a Sole Administrator.
As you are aware, the allegations against the Executive Chairman are contrary to the Local Government Establishment Law, 2007 (as amended) and the matter was referred to the Hon. Attorney-General and Commissioner for Justice to proffer legal advice.
The Executive Governor accordingly received inputs from the Hon. Attorney-General and Commissioner for Justice on the matter and in view of paragraphs 5 and 6 of the attached letter from the Hon. Attorney-General directed that 1 request approval of the Benue State House of Assembly to suspend the Executive Chairman of Vandeikya Local Government Council, Hon. (Mrs) Kukase Tyoer Garba for a period of three (3) months In line with Section 154 of the Benue State Local Government Establishment Law, 2007 (as amended).
