The PDP Chairmanship Candidate of Agatu Local Government Council has emerged. He is Hon Joseph Ngbede. He polled 15 votes to defeat his closest rival, Hon. Alh. Ibrahim Hussein (Galaxy) who scored 8 votes, while Hon Andrew Jacob(Manager) came a distance third with 4 votes. Hon Abu Baba scored 0 vote.
It will be recalled that series of Agatu PDP Caucus meetings were held both in Agatu and Makurdi in the past weeks without headway after which another meeting was reconvened at the State PDP Secretariat in Makurdi where a final decision was taken for aspirants to go into an election to determine who becomes the next Agatu council chairman comes 7th May, 2022.
The process was free, fair and transparent. Aspirants who lost out expressed happiness over the peaceful and transparent conduct of the election, assuring the candidate of their maximum support.
Earlier in their separate remarks, state chairman of PDP, Benue state chapter, Sir John Ngbede, member representing Agatu State Constituency, Hon Godwin Abu Edoh, Commissioner for Information, Culture and Tourism, Hon Michael Inalegwu, Special Adviser to the Governor on Economic Matter, Hon Sule Adanu, PSA to Governor on Trade and Investment, Alh Isa Usman, immediate past Commissioner for Youth and Sports Development, Comr. Pst Ojema Ojotu, former PSA to the Governor on Trade and Investment, Hon Sule Audu, Hon Yusuf Ogbole, Agatu PDP chairman, Hon Eche Emmanuel and others charged the candidate, Hon Ngbede, to carry people along and sustain the existing peace in Agatu.
