The Executive Chairman of Ado Local Government Area of Benue State, Hon. James Oche, has thanked leadership of the party for finding him worthy as its flagbearer in the coming council election in the state.
IDOMA VOICE reports that PDP stakeholders in Ado on Thursday, unanimously endorsed Oche as the flagbearer of the party in the coming polls, due to his outstanding performance in the last two years as elected chairman of the local government.
They hinged their reason on the fact that Oche has done well and should be allowed to pilot the affairs of the local government for another two years.
Responding, Oche thanked the leadership of the party for the trust reposed in him.
He specifically appreciated the state governor, Samuel Ortom, Benue South Senator, Comrade Abba Moro, Deputy Governor Benson Abounu, Senator David Mark, John Ngbede and other top stakeholders who stood for him.
The youthful politician, however, apologised to to anyone who, he may have offended in any way, “in the course of this reelection bid to kindly find a place in their hearts to forgive me. Together we can be better and stronger and together, Ado will be better.”
His statement reads below.
Yesterday, history was made and the people of Ado, convinced about my credibility and good intentions which have been reflected in our modest efforts while holding sway as Caretaker and Executive Chairman of the Council have reconsidered me to steer the Local Government ashore to safety.
They have found me worthy to emerge as the flag-bearer of the People’s Democratic Party (PDP) in the forth coming Local Government Elections. I return glory to God Almighty for his grace upon my life.
I owe to the Ado PDP Stakeholders, a debt of gratitude for the weight thrown behind me. I do not take your support for granted and will not disappoint you.
With a deep breath of humility, I take this time to, in a very special way, appreciate His Excellency, Dr. Samuel Ortom and His Deputy, Engr. Benson Abounu for their commitment to the welfare of the people and for seeing to it that the right political decisions are made in the most democratic manner. May the blessings of the Almighty God continue to light your path in leadership.
To my Mentor, the People’s Distinguished Senator, Comr. Abba Moro. Words may not be sufficient to convey my gratitude to you. You are a true leader who is rooted firmly in the hearts of the people. God will always make straight your path.
To my father, the Oracle, His Excellency, Distinguished Sen. (Dr) David Mark, President of the 6th & 7th Assembly of the Federal Republic of Nigeria, I say thank you for the uncommon mentorship role you have continued to play in my life. May good health and long life never leave you.
Most respectfully, I wish to appreciate the uncommon leadership dexterity of the outstanding and hardworking State Chairman of the People’s Democratic Party, Hon. Chief John Ngbede and his executive for holding the party together and ensuring it’s victory at every stage.
I appreciate the Chairman and Executive Members of the Ado PDP for their support.
I most passionately appreciate each and every member of the Ado Legislative Council for their immeasurable support to me.
I take this time to passionately apologize to anyone who, I may have offended in any way, in the course of this reelection bid to kindly find a place in their hearts to forgive me. Together we can be better and stronger and together, Ado will be better.
Finally, I appreciate my family, my friends and the good people of Ado Local Government Area for your uncommon and steadfast support.
Going into the elections, I continue to solicit that this support be sustained through to victory.
The HARMONIZATION AGENDA is designed to bring forth a more beautiful Ado, consolidating on the gains of our past.
