The Senator representing the good people of Benue South Senatorial District, Distinguished Senator Abba Moro, has thumbed up for the Benue State Independent Electoral Commission (BSIEC), for conducting a free and fair LG election across the 23 LGAs of the state earlier today.
Addressing newsmen in his Ugbokolo home shortly after the conclusion of the exercise, Senator Moro said the election was peaceful and orderly.
He commended the electorate for organizing themselves in a peaceful manner during the voting period.
On the low turnout of voters, he said that was expected because of the COVID-19 pandemic, stating that the development did not, in any way, invalidate the exercise.
While congratulating the winners, the Comrade-Senator advised them to be magnanimous in victory and ensure that they don’t betray the trust reposed in them by the people.
He said as former Council Chairman, he understood the enormous tasks ahead of the elected chairmen, but that with determination and sincerity of purpose they would succeed.
