Benue Links accident update: How driver slept off on steering, crushed two corpers to death – Eyewitness

Fresh facts have emerged on the real cause of the accident involving a bus belonging to Benue Links Transport Company on Wednesday.
IDOMA VOICE reports that two NYSC members lost their lives while many others sustained various degrees of injuries in the fatal auto mishap that occurred after Bethany Academy along the ever-busy Gboko – Alaide road.

However, an eyewitness hinted IDOMA VOICE that driver of the ill-fated slept and veered of the road while on high speed.
According to him, the driver, who was driving at 130km/hr suddenly dozed off and lost control of the steering and found himself in a ditch.
He said one of the corps members, identified as Becky and her colleague could not make it after they tried to jump off the vehicle while the driver was battling with the steering.
“I personally witnessed the accident. The driver slept off and lost control of the vehicle. The two corpers that died attempted to jump out of the vehicle,” the eyewitness said.
