Benue: Man nabbed for stealing TVs, fridge, generator from tenants in Makurdi

A suspected thief who allegedly specializes in stealing electronics from residential homes in Makurdi has been caught by residents after a string of thefts within a compound.

IDOMA VOICE gathered that the man had a pattern of renting low-cost apartments and staying briefly without fully settling in. During this period, he would monitor the movements of other tenants before allegedly stealing valuable household items, including refrigerators, televisions, and generators.

His most recent operation ended when other residents of the compound noticed the disappearance of their appliances shortly after he moved in. Acting on suspicion, they investigated and reportedly uncovered his involvement in the thefts.

The suspect has since been apprehended, and residents are urging others to be vigilant when admitting new tenants into shared living spaces.

Authorities have yet to release an official statement on the arrest.
