Benue: Names of officers slain in Katsina-Ala ambush released

The identities of some of the security operatives slain in the September 19, 2025, deadly ambush at Agu Centre in Katsina-Ala Local Government Area of Benue State have been made public.

Those confirmed dead include ASP Dalami Usman (widely known as Danzuru), Inspector Solomon Ogebe, Navas Kukaa of the Civil Protection Guard, and Mbakiir Torpine of the Nigerian Forest Security Service (NFSS).

The victims were part of a joint security operation when their team was overrun in a fierce assault by suspected herdsmen and armed bandits, leaving multiple casualties and others initially missing.

The brutal killings have plunged the community and security agencies into mourning, while authorities have pledged to track down the perpetrators and strengthen operations to restore peace in the area.
