I will serve Benue State with the fear of God – Ortom goes spiritual

Benue State Governor, Samuel Ortom has urged members of the Pentecostal Fellowship of Nigeria, PFN, to embrace unity for the growth of the church and the state at large.

Governor Ortom gave the charge yesterday at the New Banquet Hall of the Peoples House, Makurdi when the state leadership of PFN and members visited him.

He said no meaningful development could strive in an atmosphere of rivalry and disunity, stressing that the church is a pivotal institution for unity which the state needs.
The Governor told PFN that the fear of God has been the bedrock of his achievements so far.
“I will serve Benue State with the fear of God because the secret to any success in life is to work by the directives of God”, he stated.
He called on the Pentecostal Fellowship of Nigeria to pray for his administration and that of President Buhari to succeed.
Governor Ortom pledged to make the Christian community in Benue proud by upholding transparency, accountability and selfless service to the state.
Earlier, the Chairman, Pentecostal Fellowship of Nigeria in the state, Bishop Mike Angou said they were in the Peoples House to identify with the Governor’s uncommon achievements in the midst of recession and to brief him on activities of the group as its Patron.
Bishop Angou described Governor Ortom as the most transparent governor in Nigeria as evident in his handling of state allocations, bailout funds and Paris Club refund.
The visit also featured prayers for the present administration and the state in general.
