1. Leading Civil rights advocacy group, Human Rights Writers Association of Nigeria, (HURIWA) on Sunday, condemned the humiliation of Benue State Governor, Samuel Ortom, on Saturday by overzealous airmen of the Nigerian Air Force in Makurdi, the state capital.
In a statement, National Coordinator of HURIWA, Emmanuel Onwubiko, said barring an elected state governor and Chief Security Officer of a state from the NAF Base is an affront to the principle of democracy.
2. The chairman of the PDP campaign council for the FCT Council polls and Governor of Benue State, Governor Samuel Ortom has warned the Independent Electoral Commission, INEC not to tamper with the results of the elections in AMAC and Kwali council polls.
He said that INEC should not allow itself to be influenced by a serving minister in the President Muhammadu Buhari administration and a serving governor from the South East to change the wishes of the people of the FCT.

Governor Ortom during a condolence visit on the family of the deceased in Makurdi Saturday, 12th February, 2022 described the late Mrs Bai as a great woman who lived a fulfilled life and supported many in different aspects of life.
