1. Fr Hyacinth Alia has sworn in 17 commissioners and 23 Special Advisers in the state.
Speaking during the inauguration ceremony at the New Banquet Hall of Government House in Makurdi on Tuesday, Governor Alia urged them to be kind and generous to Benue people as well as prove themselves in their given assignments.
2. The Benue State Emergency Management Agency, BSEMA, has urged residents of the state, particularly those residing in flood-prone areas to vacate.
The Acting Executive Secretary, Sir James Anodoakaa Iorpuu who gave the warning in a statement issued on Monday by Terfa Anar, Principal Media Aide to BSEMA ES, said the development followed the release of water from the LAGDO-DAM of Cameroon over River Benue.
3. Former Senator representing Bayelsa East Senatorial District, Ben Murray-Bruce has met with Big Brother Naija All Stars housemate, Kiddwaya, and Emmanuel Myam who cycled from Benue to Lagos in honour of musician, Davido.
The former lawmaker shared photos of his meeting with the duo on Tuesday via social media.
4. The leadership of Benue State Football Association (BSFA) has clearly stated that it is only committed towards ensuring the development of the round leather game at all times without interfering in the day-to-day activities of any club.
BSFA Chairman, Barr. Paul Edeh, in a terse statement on Monday August 28, 2023, urged stakeholders in Benue, particularly in the football arena to exercise restrain, be patient and tolerant as the current administration led by Governor Rev. Fr. Dr. Hyacinth Alia will at the right time consider most appropriate decision regarding Lobi Stars.
5. Former Benue North East Senatorial Candidate of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Mrs Mimi Adzape-Orubibi, has denied abandoning her children in Canada.
Adzape-Orubibi stated this while reacting to a recent social media publication that alleged that she had abandoned her children in Canada and returned home to move in with a Benue-based businessman in Gboko.
