1. President Muhammadu Buhari has joined sons and daughters of Idoma Kingdom, Benue State, in celebrating the investiture of the 5th Och’Idoma, Dr John Elaigwu Odogbo, whose academic, work and leadership credentials hold promise for his people.

According to a statement issued by Femi Adesina, Special Adviser to the President (Media & Publicity), on Friday, President Buhari noted the zeal and diligence of Dr Odogbo in seeking knowledge and sharing his wisdom, working for more than two decades with the Federal Inland Revenue Service, during which he earned a doctorate in accounting and taxation, and trained many staff.

2. Governor Samuel Ortom of Benue State has revealed the three names the presidential candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), Atiku Abubakar, presented from which a panel was to decide his running mate.

According to him, they are Governor Nyesom Wike (Rivers State), Governor Ifeanyi Okowa (Delta State) and Governor Emmanuel Udom (Akwa Ibom State).

3. With about 15 days to the Independent National Electoral deadline for the submission of the list of governorship and House of Assembly candidates by political parties, IDOMA VOICE can report that the All Progressives Congress, APC, in Benue State is yet to settle on who is the authentic governorship flag bearer of the party.

4. The All Progressives Congress, APC senatorial candidate for Benue South, Daniel Onjeh, has expressed anger over the reported attack on several communities in Benue State, asserting that a thousand cows are not worth the life of a single human.

Onjeh made the assertion on Wednesday at the Ojapo Internally Displaced Persons (IDP) Camp, where he visited to commiserate with victims of Sunday, 12th June 2022 attack on Igama, Edumoga Ehaje Community of Okpokwu Local Government by suspected killer herdsmen.

5. A 55-year-old man, Sunday Oroke, was on Thursday docked in a Makurdi Upper Area Court for allegedly stealing a cow.
The police charged Oroke, who lives in in Igumale town Ado Local Government Area of Benue with criminal breach of trust and cheating.
