1. No fewer than 200 persons have been reportedly displaced in the recent attack on Igama community in Okpokwu Local Government Area, LGA, of Benue state by suspected armed herdsmen.

It would be recalled that Igama community was recently attacked by suspected armed herdsmen leading to the death of about 16 persons and displacement of several persons while many sustained injuries.

2. No fewer than 20 million have so far benefitted from various National Social Investment Programmes implemented by Federal Government since August 2019.

The programmes include the up-skilling of 1,064,774 youths in the Graduate and Non-Graduate programmes under the N-Power scheme, with the highest number of beneficiaries drawn from Benue, Delta, Enugu, FCT, Kaduna, Kano, Lagos, Osun, Oyo and Rivers States before Bauchi State.

3. Benue State Governor, Samuel Ortom has called on the American government and the rest of the international community to hold the government of Muhammadu Buhari accountable for the spate of violence in Nigeria.

He made the call at the State Department, Washington DC, while interacting with its officials.

4. Youth leaders in the South-east zone have commended the Governor of Benue State, Samuel Ortom, for always expressing dispassionate views on national issues which have portrayed him as “a man of truth and integrity”.

The youth leaders under the aegis of Coalition of South East Youth Leaders (COSEYL) made known their feelings about the Benue governor in a statement signed by the President General, Hon. Goodluck Ibem and Publicity Secretary, Comrade Okey Nwaoru.

5. The Tiv Youth Organisation Worldwide, the umbrella body of Tiv ethnic group youths, has frowned at a statement credited to one Mike Msuaan, who claims to be speaking on behalf of “Tiv Youth Council”.

The group in a statement by its President General, Timothy Hembaor, said Msuaan is on the payroll of Miyetti Allah as a snitch and a paid gun.
