  1. A chieftain of the All Progressives Congress, APC, and governorship aspirant in Benue State, Noah McDickson, has dumped the party for the New Nigeria People’s Party. He described the NNPP as a party that is built on the core values of internal democracy, accountability, inclusion, equity, freedom and social justice.
  2. Following the directive of the Chief Judge of Benue State, Justice Aondover Kaka’an, hearing in a Coroner’s Inquest into the death of late Mr. Sixtus Akure, a Senior Inspector of Taxes at the Benue Internal Revenue Service, BIRS, will commence Friday March 18, 2022 in Makurdi.A statement by Counsel to the BIRS, Mr. Desmond Tor-Wendeh, issued Thursday in Makurdi, indicated that the inquest would be conducted by the Presiding Judge, Chief Magistrate Court 1, Mr. Vincent Tersoo Kor.
  3. A former Deputy Governor of Benue State and chieftain of the All Progressives Congress, Steve Lawani, has denied purchasing the APC national chairmanship nomination form for George Akume. Comrade Sylvanus Okpe, Media and Communications Director, Lawani Campaign Organization (LACO), said the report is untrue and should be discarded in its entirety.
  4. Atser Emmanuel, also known as DJ Emmy, has won the Face of Talent Hunt Nigeria 2022. Atser, a native of Vandeikya, Benue State, was adjudged the best winner, after outshining 12 others across Nigeria
  5. There is currently palpable tension among residents of Katsina-Ala Local Government Area of Benue state following threats by armed bandits to attack the community over killings of colleagues by the military. The development was confirmed to newsmen Wednesday in Makurdi my the Chairman of Katsina-Ala, LGA, Mr. Alfred Atera who said “following the attack on Tse Geju camp yesterday by the men of OPWS during which four of the bandits were eliminated, their leader Terna Gide is threatening to embark on reprisal.
  6. The Police Command in Benue, on Thursday arraigned one Mr Apolo Atserga, 47, in Makurdi Upper Area Court 2b, for alleged mischief by fire and attempt to commit culpable homicide. The Police Prosecutor, Insp Veronica Shaagee, told the court that the case was transferred from Logo Divisional Police Headquarters, Ugba, to the Criminal Investigation Department (CID), Makurdi via letter number AR:3100/BNS/LOG/VOL.6/478, and dated March 11.
  7. Godwin, who was banished from Anmonda community for his alleged incessant criminal records, ran out of luck last night and met his waterloo around Omaiye Junction By Ijami road Sabon-Garri, Otukpo, Benue State.

    8. A young man identified as, believed to be in his early 30s, was beaten to death after he and his two other friends allegedly robbed a POS agent opposite Federal University of Health Sciences, Otukpo (FUHSO).
    9. The Senator representing Benue South Senatorial District, Distinguished Senator Abba Moro, on Wednesday, received the INTEGRITY ICON OF NIGERIA (I.I.O.N) award from an organization called Centre For Ethics And Self Value Orientation (CESVO).

    The award is in recognition of Senator Moro’s commitment to community service, integrity, national interest, due process compliance, transparent and accountable leadership, innovativeness and emotional intelligence, efficiency on the floor of the Senate, quality of Bills and Motions sponsored, quality assurance in constituency projects implementation and commitment to global poverty and hunger reduction in Benue South.

    10. Eunice Spring of Life Foundation (ESLF), has named the Executive Chairman of Otukpo Local Government Council, Rt. Hon. George Alli, as her Ambassador.

    ESLF Founder and First Lady of Benue State, Dr. Eunice Ortom, while conferring the ambassadorial award on Alli at the foundation’s office in Hudco quarters, Makurdi, disclosed that the confferement is in recognition of Alli’s unwavering partnership with the Foundation. In the words of First Lady, Dr. Eunice Ortom, Alli “is committed to everything he does.
