1. The Governor of Benue State, Rev Fr Dr Hyacinth Iormem Alia has rolled out plans for the disbursement of the five billion naira given by federal government to cushion the effect of subsidy removal on the citizens.
Speaking Tuesday, August 22, 2023 during the flag off of the distribution of relief materials to victims of 2022 flood in Makurdi, Governor Alia said Benue State has already received two Billion naira out of the money and is now awaiting to receive the remaining funds.
2. The immediate past Governor of Benue State, Samuel Ortom deeply appreciates all the concerns being expressed by different people over his harassment and those who served his administration in form of petitions to anti-graft agencies, arrests and impoundment of vehicles.
Ortom, however, calls for calm and urges those making statements regarding the situation to exercise restraint and not heat up the polity.
3. In an effort to create employment opportunities for youths, the Benue State government is collaborating with Troika Tex Digital Communications Ltd, Google and Microsoft to conduct a comprehensive tech skill development for youth.
The training which is scheduled to commence in the coming weeks, is designed to equip the participants with digital skills and international certifications ranging from Digital Marketing and e-Commerce, Advance Data analytics, Data science and analysis, UI/UX (user interface/user experience) programming, frontend and backend programming to mention but a few.

6. Benue State Governor, Rev Fr Hyacinth Alia, on Wednesday constituted a five-man committee headed by the Speaker of the state’s House Assembly, Hyacinth Dajoh, to examine the challenges facing the state-owned club Lobi Stars.
The other members of the committee are a former BCC Lions player, Aondofa Akosu; the state’s Director of Sports, Philip Nongo; former Flying Eagles coach, Godwin Uwua and the Permanent Secretary, Ministry of Sports.

She stated this during the reception for the newly appointed minister from Benue in Abuja on Monday.
